Shortlisted for Food Photographer of the Year

My picture of a steaming hot pot photographed in Ha Long, Vietnam, is shortlisted for the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2021.

The picture was taken during a meal at the end of the 2nd International Life Science and Parapsychology Studies Association Forum and Sixth Sense Mind Sport Competition in Ha Long in December, 2019.

The Pink Lady® Food Photographer of the Year competition was launched in 2011, Open to all photographers, a range of categories cover the depiction of food in society. Over 70,000 images and films have been submitted from over 77 countries since the competition first started, with 10,000 images entered for the 2021 competition.

Digital manager Kathleen Codd said ‘To have made it so far in the competition is a huge achievement’.

A Virtual Awards Ceremony for the finalists is due to be held on 27 April 2021.

Dr Leo Ruickbie, FRHistS, FRAI, Associate of King’s College, is a Visiting Fellow in Psychology at the University of Northampton and the author of six books, most recently Angels in the Trenches: Spiritualism, Superstition and the Supernatural During the First World War. Actively involved in the parapsychological research community, he is a Council Member of the Society for Psychical Research and a Professional Member of the Parapsychological Association. He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and a Fellow of the Royal Anthropological Institute. In 2021, he won third prize in the essay contest organised by the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies.
